Shell Eco-Marathon Americas
We competed at the Shell Eco-Marathon Americas 2024 held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on April 3-7. SEMA is an ultra-efficiency supermileage competition and we competed in the Prototype Hydrogen Fuel Cell category with our new H2 FC Prototype called Lucy.
We are very proud to present our results:
We have placed 1st place in the Prototype Hydrogen Fuel Cell category with an efficiency of 323 km/m3, approximately 4,000 km on 1 kg of hydrogen. This is the most efficient EcoCar built in the history of the club!
We were nominated and received 1st place Safety Award out of 73 international teams; this award is presented to the team who demonstrates the best overall Health Safety Security and Environmental (HSSE) performance onsite throughout the duration of the competition!
We were nominated and received the Spirit of Shell Eco-Marathon Award out of 73 international teams; this award is presented to the team which best symbolises the spirit and values of Shell Eco-Marathon through their actions!
We were the 1st team in the Hydrogen category to pass Technical and Safety Inspections!
We were the only Hydrogen team with six valid attempts!
Our car was selected out of 73 teams to be featured in the annual SEMA vehicle picture!
After a crash during one of the practice runs, we were back on the track in under 90 minutes!
