Shell Eco-Marathon Americas

We competed at the Shell Eco-Marathon Americas 2024 held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on April 3-7. SEMA is an ultra-efficiency supermileage competition and we competed in the Prototype Hydrogen Fuel Cell category with our new H2 FC Prototype called Lucy.

We are very proud to present our results:

• We have placed 1st place in the Prototype Hydrogen Fuel Cell category with an efficiency of 323 km/m3, approximately 4,000 km on 1 kg of hydrogen. This is the most efficient EcoCar built in the history of the club!

• We were nominated and received 1st place Safety Award out of 73 international teams; this award is presented to the team who demonstrates the best overall Health Safety Security and Environmental (HSSE) performance onsite throughout the duration of the competition!

• We were nominated and received the Spirit of Shell Eco-Marathon Award out of 73 international teams; this award is presented to the team which best symbolises the spirit and values of Shell Eco-Marathon through their actions!

• We were the 1st team in the Hydrogen category to pass Technical and Safety Inspections!

• We were the only Hydrogen team with six valid attempts!

• Our car was selected out of 73 teams to be featured in the annual SEMA vehicle picture!

• After a crash during one of the practice runs, we were back on the track in under 90 minutes!
