Shell Eco-Marathon Running Diary: Day 3

March 28, 2012

Waking up to a brisk morning, the truck and trailer continue to trek south east. It didn’t take long to pass into Wyoming and there is a switch to red tinted highways.

As the day progresses the temperature steadily climbs to 25oC. It’s another perfect day for driving to the EcoCar to competition. Some notable events for the day include crossing “North Fork Crazy Woman”, “Middle Fork Crazy Woman”, and “South Fork Crazy Woman” creeks.

The highways continue to be smooth and going is fast. We also made a quick stop at a local sight seeing spot called the coral reefs. It was an assortment of rocks and boulders by the side of the road.

Following this we continue into Kansas. Pulling over sometime after 4:00AM we stopped for gas at station just off the highway. By chance it just happened to be the Wizard of Oz town and everything in the gas station was wizard of oz themed. It was very peculiar.
