We are pleased to announce that for the second year in a row, TEC Edmonton will be supporting the University of Alberta EcoCar team as a contributing sponsor.
TEC Edmonton is an Edmonton-based accelerator for emerging technology-based companies offering programs for business and professional development. Additionally, TEC Edmonton’s Technology Management team helps commercialize University of Alberta technologies. In 2017, the leadership they provided to the University of Alberta lead to four spin off companies and 29 US patents.
Many TEC Edmonton clients have a UAlberta connection. One of these companies is Trioova, founded by three UAlberta students and aims to simplify healthcare communication for caregivers, patients and care teams. Another company, iSmartWays, is a participant in TEC Edmonton’s T-Squared Accelerator (a partnership with TELUS to advance the success of ICT companies). Led by UAlberta researcher, Dr. Tony Qiu, iSmartWays uses big data and analytics for intelligent vehicle and smart transportation solutions.
TEC Edmonton was recently ranked third in the world for University Accelerators by UBI Global, a Stockholm-based research and advisory firm.
